Digital Product Designer (junior)

We are seeking a Junior Digital Product Designer to join our K-Ruoka team at Kesko. As a Junior Digital Product Designer, you will play a vital role in designing digital products that align with the user’s needs and meet our business objectives. While we are looking for a Product Designer who participates in all stages of product design process, your visual design skills and passion for the UI is what will set you apart when applying for this role.

In this role, you are expected to:
– Design high-quality, functional and visually appealing UI/UX designs for both web and app
– Collaborate with business owners, designers and developers to ensure designs are meaningful and scalable
– Demonstrate a basic understanding of accessible design principles
– Continuously seek feedback and apply it to enhance your designs and design skills
– Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools and technologies
– Be an active participant in design critiques and contribute constructively to the team’s ideas
– Be driven to learn and grow as a designer, with a mindset focused on user-centric design

Your skills and background:
– Experience in designing delightful B2C digital services (please include your portfolio in the application to showcase your experience)
– You are proficient in Figma, which is our primary design tool
– Prior experience collaborating with developers
– Basic knowledge of accessible design principles and methodologies
– Obsessed with knowing what users think and prioritising users as part of the design process
– Open to feedback and willing to improve through constructive criticism
– Ability to work with UIs and support material that’s in Finnish (the organisation works in Finnish, part of the product team works in English)
– Eagerness to develop e-commerce thinking and apply it to your design work. If you have experience in marketing, that is a big plus.
– We are more interested in your skills than your education or years of working experience. However, design-related degree and some prior work experience can help you demonstrate that you have the skills needed for this role.
