Do you want to be driving development of Finland’s most widely used consumer services? Fonecta is looking for a Product Owner to lead the development of Fonecta Caller, Finder.fi, 02rekkari.fi and SMS services, and the services reach over 3 million users on monthly basis while the team operates with a customer-centric, data-driven approach with continuous iteration. As a Product Owner you are the driving force behind the development and delivery of innovative digital products that align with business goals and customer needs, and you will act as the bridge between stakeholders and a dedicated development team, ensuring that product vision is translated into actionable work and delivered with excellence.

We are looking for a person who can lead a multi-discipline development team and thrive in an agile environment in continuously developing markets, and one key driver of the role is international expansion of our services in collaboration with our Group company Hitta.se. You’ll have a rare opportunity to join an agile, start-up-minded team developing B2C and B2B business in a profitable, private equity-owned company, where operations are goal-oriented with ambitious targets and we strongly support competence growth while giving plenty of space and ownership to drive initiatives independently. In the role, you will own and oversee the development process, execution, and timelines for Fonecta Caller, Finder.fi, 02rekkari.fi and SMS services, and you will maintain a product roadmap that reflects priorities and strategic directions with a solid release plan balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term strategic goals. You will ensure the team can perform their tasks without obstacles by having clear milestones and monitoring progress against plans, and you will own and manage the product backlog so that it is well-defined, prioritized and continuously refined while working closely with the development team, including software developers, UX, design and QA, and with stakeholders in Finland and Sweden. You will manage daily operations of the development team through agile events and align cross-functional teams around product goals and priorities, and you will own the technical quality of the products and the production process by continuously improving to enhance both quality and efficiency. You will identify technical and development-related risks and proactively seek solutions with the team, making trade-off decisions based on business value, technical feasibility and customer impact, and you will manage technical integrations and their quality with other Fonecta products. You will also contribute to the development and management of the services’ lifecycle, commercialisation, and productization.

To succeed, you are expected to have proven ability to lead and oversee complex product development processes and multi-discipline development teams including execution and release management, and you should have demonstrated experience in working on global services and/or ability to operate effectively in global customer and work environments. You will need high resilience and adaptability in fast-changing requirements and an evolving organisation with the ability to respond quickly to market shifts, and you should be able to manage multiple products and services simultaneously while being able to see the big picture and understand the details. Experience in digital self-service product development is required and it is preferably in B2C services, and you should have strong knowledge of agile methodologies with the ability to tailor them to the team and situation along with a desire to continuously improve team practices and efficiency. You should be able to understand, define and communicate technical requirements, along with risks and options, to non-technical stakeholders, and you should have technical or product management qualifications or education as well as 5 years of work experience. Strong communication skills in both Finnish and English are needed, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly in either language, and you should also have up-to-date understanding of key AI development tools and insight into their impact to software development.
