Front-end developer

You’d be responsible for the development of innovative digital products that will be used by thousands of customers in the Nordic countries. The purpose of the team is to develop and maintain a design system for all other parts in If.
About the role
In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining libraries with responsive, accessible UI components for our design system. This role requires a strong understanding of accessibility standards, collaboration with UX/UI designers, and close coordination with other developers to ensure seamless integration of design system components into various applications.
You are also responsible of:
– Ensuring all components meet WCAG 2.1 (AA) guidelines.
– Conducting accessibility testing and implementing necessary improvements.
– Participating in agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
– Staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in frontend development and accessibility.

Who are you?
You are a team player with a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to iterate solutions based on feedback in a fast-moving organization. You are interested in the latest front-end technologies and open to being an advocate of the latest trends. You are also an excellent communicator in your native language and English. As a person you are open and supportive and passionate to deliver the best possible outcome.
You also have:
– Strong experience with React and state management (redux, mobex, etc) libraries.
– Working knowledge of semantic markup (HTML5+) and style preprocessors (sass, less, stylus, etc).
– Solid grasp of modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript and the front-end eco-system (building, bundling, etc).
– An understanding of internet accessibility.
– Solid experience writing unit tests.
– An understanding of web performance optimization principles.
– Experience with git version control, RESTful services and APIs.
– Experience with working within agile environments.
– Attention to detail, including code structure and quality.
– Experience developing and maintaining design systems.
– Experience from collaboration with designers.
– Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, Wave, Lighthouse).
– Experience working with web components.
– Experience working with Azure DevOps.
