Senior Designer, Elisa Design System
We are now looking for a Senior Designer for our Elisa Design System team, who is responsible for designing our Design System – acting as the central design and development hub for User Experiences across Elisa.
As Senior Designer on the Design System team, you’ll be a key contributor to the evolution and maintenance of our Elisa Design System (EDS). You’ll collaborate closely with talented designers and developers to create a cohesive and exceptional User Experience across all our products. Your passion for design systems, combined with a deep understanding of user-centred design principles and extensive experience with design systems, will be essential in driving consistency, efficiency, and innovation.
We appreciate:
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills in English (Finnish is an advantage), with the ability to effectively collaborate with other design system team members and cross-functional teams.
– Minimum 5-8 years in a digital design role (preferably with 1-2 years’ experience with design systems).
– Proficiency in Figma (creating re-usable components, using Figma Variables etc).
– Experience in mobile application design
– A deep understanding of user-centred design principles, interaction design, visual design, typography, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2 AA minimum).
You don’t have to know everything, the position allows you to learn more as you go.
Part of your time will be dedicated to supporting designers, providing swift consultation and translating their needs.
Some of your day-to-day roles and responsibilities, many together with the team:
– Design System contribution: Actively contribute to the design and development of UI components and patterns.
– Documentation and guidelines: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the design system.
– Collaboration and feedback: Collaborate closely with designers across product teams, providing guidance and feedback on design system implementation.
– Staying current: Stay abreast of the latest design system trends, tools, and best practices, advocating for continuous improvement of our design system.
Our team is agile and independent – we own our system and ways of working. All members of our team are based in Helsinki, and we work according to Elisa hybrid work guidelines.
