Full Stack WordPress Developer

We are looking for a Full Stack WordPress Developer to join our Web and eCommerce team. At Valve we excel at building complex websites based on WordPress, and online stores based on WooCommerce. We work with b2b clients from various industries who trust us to create customized, highly functional, integrated websites that form a core part of their digital strategy.

What are we looking for from you? For this role, we are seeking a Developer with strong skills in both front-end and back-end WordPress development. You should be comfortable creating modern block themes using React, developing custom WordPress plugins, and working with PHP-based functionalities. We’re looking for someone who can build robust WordPress solutions while maintaining clean, efficient code.

Our developers usually work in pairs, so you’ve always got someone to bounce ideas off. We love to share and learn from each other, and we encourage everyone to suggest and contribute to improvements in how we work. We believe high-quality, beautiful code is just as important as beautiful design. Please note also that we expect applicants to have the ability to work fluently in English and to live in Finland to ensure efficient teamwork and collaboration.

Responsibilities

– Developing WordPress themes using modern block editor and React
– Creating custom WordPress plugins and functionalities
– Working collaboratively with colleagues
– Contributing to code reviews and providing feedback
– Implementing WordPress best practices and standards
– Building and maintaining WordPress sites and WooCommerce stores
– Completing tasks on time and according to specifications
– Skills, knowledge and experience
– Strong experience in WordPress development
– Proficiency in PHP and WordPress core
– Experience with React and modern JavaScript
– Knowledge of WordPress block theme development
– Familiarity with WooCommerce development
– Database knowledge (SQL)
– Understanding of WordPress security and performance best practices
