Product Owner, Mobile Application (Fixed-term) to join our eCommerce & Marketing team, the strategic lead behind an award-winning mobile application. Central to our mission, we recognize the importance of exceptional customer experience in digital services, as our services and products are designed to bring happiness to our customers’ lives. Among the upcoming initiatives, we are focusing on enhancing accessibility to ensure that even more Finns can enjoy the Aurinkomatkat holidays, making our services even more conveniently available to everyone.
As a Product Owner, Mobile Application, you’ll play a pivotal role in our development team, driving the strategic vision and execution of our mobile app. Your mission will be to oversee the entire product lifecycle—from concept to launch—ensuring that our app not only meets user needs but also aligns with Aurinkomatkat’s broader business objectives. You’ll be responsible for defining the product roadmap, prioritizing features, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a top-notch user experience.
This is a parental leave substitution and a fixed-term contract, beginning this October and lasting until at least September 2025, potential for continuation.
Main responsibilities:
– Commercial responsibility of the mobile application, driving growth e.g. through in-app sales and user volumes & retention. Optimize the mobile app’s sales funnel and ensure that the app contributes to achieving overall business sales goals.
– Defining and communicating the overall vision and strategy for the mobile application. Aligning the product’s direction with business goals and ensuring that it meets the customers’ needs and expectations.
– Working closely with eCommerce Development Manager, Principal Designer, and stakeholders to gather and refine product requirements. Concepting mobile app services together with Principal Designer and translating high-level ideas into actionable user stories and features for the development team.
– Backlog prioritization in close collaboration with the team and stakeholders.
– Guiding the development team, providing clarifications on requirements, and making decisions regarding features and functionality.
– Gathering and incorporating user feedback into the development process and reporting results to stakeholders.
– Coordinating with the development team to plan and execute product releases, including feature launches, updates, and bug fixes.
To be successful in this role, you need to have:
– Min. 3 years of work experience in similar Product Owner roles
– Problem solving and decision-making abilities together with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
– Strong understanding of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
– Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira). Familiarity with mobile app development technologies, platforms, and ecosystems.
– Knowledge of mobile application backend systems and relevant tools (AWS, AtcomRes, AtcomCMS, Coremedia, Sitedata, Google Analytics, JIRA, Slack, Salesforce), basic understanding of system architecture and development/ testing environments.
– Excellent communication and cooperation skills both in Finnish and in English.
– Min. Bachelor degree of suitable field of study.
